Withdrawal Policy

The International Journal of Data Sciences and Intelligent Systems (IJDSS) recognizes that authors may, under certain circumstances, request the withdrawal of a submitted manuscript. The journal has established a clear withdrawal policy to ensure transparency, fairness, and the integrity of the peer review process.

Key Guidelines:

  1. Before Peer Review: Authors may withdraw a manuscript at any stage prior to the completion of the initial editorial assessment or peer review. A written request stating the reason for withdrawal must be sent to the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor. The withdrawal will be acknowledged in writing, and the manuscript will be removed from the review process.

  2. During Peer Review: Withdrawal requests after the manuscript has entered the peer review process are considered only under exceptional circumstances, such as errors in data, ethical concerns, or unavoidable conflicts. Authors must submit a formal written request, which will be reviewed by the editorial team before approval.

  3. After Acceptance: Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, withdrawal is discouraged except under extraordinary conditions. Authors requesting post-acceptance withdrawal must provide valid justification, and the journal reserves the right to deny withdrawal to protect the integrity of the publication record.

  4. Ethical Considerations: The journal strictly adheres to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines, ensuring that withdrawal requests do not compromise ethical standards or result in duplicate publication elsewhere.

  5. Documentation: All withdrawal requests and decisions are documented and maintained for record-keeping and transparency.

This policy ensures that while authors retain the right to withdraw their work under valid circumstances, the journal maintains ethical standards, publication integrity, and accountability throughout the submission and review process.
